I would like to extend an invitation to the Natick 4th of July parade. This parade is one the largest fire apparatus parades in the Metrowest. Come join us, this years parade is in honor of those who serve in our Police, Fire, and EMS agencies. Bring your new and old fire trucks and handtubs. The members of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department would like to invite your organization to participate in our annual Firefighter's Parade on Friday, July 10. The parade will line-up at 6:00 pm across from Thompson's Café Bella Restaurant, near the intersection of US Route 33 and US Route 220. The parade will begin to move at 7:00 pm and will follow Main Street to the Pendleton County Court House. Pre-registration is not necessary, units will be lined up in the order in which they arrive. We would like to extend this invitation to your department to attend our annual Fire-Rescue Parade on Friday at 7:00 PM on the streets of beautiful Marlinton, West Virginia. The Pennsylvania Pump Primers will hold their 34th annual Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Muster from 10 AM to 4 PM in Riverfront Park, across from Harrisburg Hospital. Admission is free. The site offers excellent access to the Susquehanna River for riverside mass pumping, as well as a shady park setting for show apparatus and a flea market.  It has been called one of the best muster locations in the country and is capable of staging over 100 rigs along the river for mass pumping, with room for more than 50 on static display.

16 July 2009 - East Berlin, Pennsylvania

Liberty Fire Company #1, East Berlin, annual Firefighters Parade held in conjunction with our annual Fireman's Carnival. The parade will form at the East Berlin Community Center on North Avenue at 17:30 hours. The parade will move at 19:00 hours and proceed down North Avenue to Route 234. The parade will travel East on 234 to the East Berlin square and turn South on Route 194 past the fire station. The parade will end at the intersection of Route 194 and Walnut Street. Parade prizes will be announced by approximately 21:00 hours on the carnival grounds. Only one prize will be permitted per department. The Friendship Veterans Fire Engine Association annual Firehouse Festival. 9 am to 2 pm. We will begin our Festival at the Roscommon County Fire Training Grounds (formerly known as the Roscommon Fair Grounds) Thursday, September 17th with family night. IAFF Fallen Fire Fighters Annual Memorial Observance Ceremony takes place at 1 pm. Loved ones of fallen fire fighters and thousands of IAFF members and others are expected to attend. This year’s ceremony will honor those killed in the line of duty between June 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009 as well as those that died early, but were reported during this time period.

The mission of the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, which is located in the shadow of Pike’s Peak, is to honor the sacrifice made by professional fire fighters and paramedics who have given their lives in the line of duty. Since its creation in 1976, the names of fallen IAFF members have been engraved into the wall of honor located behind the memorial. The organization also provides assistance to surviving families and serves as a public reminder of the risks fire fighters take every day.

Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp. The Firefighters Burn Institute is proud to announce the creation of a new burn recovery camp for our littlest burn survivors. We will be hosting the first ever burn camp for children as young as three years old. Burn survivors from three years to six years old will be eligible to attend the new Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp. Camp will be held in the Livermore Hills at Camp Arroyo. The new Little Heroes Preschool Burn Camp is likely to serve as a model for other burn foundations. Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk. Start time : 9:30 AM; Location: Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. The event retraces the steps of FF Stephen Siller who on 9/11 upon hearing of the attacks headed for the WTC. Upon arriving at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, Stephen was denied entrance with his vehicle. He took up his bunker gear and ran through the tunnel, eventually meeting up with his unit and perishing along with his other brothers. Since 1982, a grateful Nation has honored its fallen fire heroes during the annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend held in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Families of fallen firefighters being honored this year and returning survivors will register at their hotels and attend a welcome reception on Friday evening.

Survivors of the fallen firefighters will participate in Family Day activities on Saturday on the National Fire Academy campus in Emmitsburg. An evening Candlelight Service at the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton will conclude the day.

On Sunday, honor guard units and bagpipers will open the Memorial Service with a procession honoring America's bravest and their families. The national tribute will conclude with the unveiling of plaques listing the names of the 2008 fallen heroes and others being honored who died in previous years.
